Individuals from around the community will fire up their grills during the 12th annual United Way of Nevada County BBQ and Car Show event "Grills 'n' Grilles".

Local BBQ teams will compete in the Backyard BBQ and Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) teams from all over Northern California will also compete for prizes. The public can taste and vote for their favorite Backyard BBQ team, and sample the KCBS grilled meats as well.

There will also be a Car Show, where people from all over the area showcase their beautiful cars, of every make, model and year. Earlier in the day, the 4th annual Derek Sorensen Memorial disc golf tournament will take place. Come out and enjoy some great food while listening to music in the beautiful

Western Gateway Park. There will be vendors, wine and beer, raffles and a children's area.

The proceeds go to United Way of Nevada County's Community Impact Fund.
