Norwood Arena Speedway and New England Dragway South thrilled oval and drag racing fans from 1948 to 1972. Top drivers raced NASCAR Modifieds there including Pete Hamilton the 1970 winner of the Daytona 500. Also Denny Hamlin who was the 1972 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year. Both are expected to attend again this year.
The event is a classic car, hot rod dragster, vintage oval race cars. Awards will be given in four catagories to the top three in classic cars, vintage oval track, motorcycles and drag race cars.
The Norwood Arena webmaster is expected to be here with the great presentation. Food, Hambers and Hot Dogs will be served from the Boston Baddest Burgers and Maine Lobstah. at 1 p.m. Collectable vendors will be also on hand.Vintage and contemporary race cars are welcome. It goes rain or shine. Music by DJ Jay Fournier will offer music from the 50's 60's and 70's will be heard. Bring pictures and scrap books on the now shuttered racing venue. It's always a good time. Dash plaques go to the first 50 show vehicles.
