Only 100 cars will be accepted and only in two classes — those built in or before 1972 and those built in or after 1973.
Many awards will be given, including for best club participation and kids’ choice.
Participants will be eligible for door prizes, and there will be drawings, oldies music and food available for purchase.
Spectators will be admitted for free. The pre-registration fee for participating car owners is $15 until March 7, after which it is $20.
Make out checks to Vietnam Veterans of America and send them, along with an application form which is available at www.vva787.com, to P.O. Box 89247, Tampa, FL, 33689-0404.
Funds raised will go toward the Vietnam Veterans of America’s many charitable acts, such as donating holiday meals to needy veterans, providing personal items to patients at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, distributing clothing to homeless veterans and contributing food to the pantry at the Center for Women Veterans.
The Vietnam Veterans of America exists to assist military veterans, primarily Vietnam-era veterans. The local chapter hosts monthly meetings at 6 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month except November and December at Rasmussen College, 4042 Park Oaks Blvd., Tampa. There is no meeting in December, and an alternate November meeting date will be announced, in order to avoid a conflict with Thanksgiving.
